The Jewish Agency is a partnership of the world Jewish community through the World Zionist organization (WZO), Keren Hayesod and the United Jewish Communities, through its governing bodies, the Board of Governors and the annual Assembly, Jews from around the world meet in Israel to make collective decisions regarding the needs of the Jewish people and how to address them. The WZO brings to the table representatives of Israeli society and major Jewish organizations, including various religious streams. This broad representation enables world Jewry to influence a wide range of issues, while operating through coordination and understanding with the Israeli Government. The Jewish Agency interfaces with a variety of agents with which it jointly operates programs. These include various Israel government ministries, international non-governmental entities, local and regional councils in Israel, voluntary associations in Israel and abroad, philathropic foundations, institutions of higher learning, the private sector and various governments around the world. |
